President of Boats
Ben Wedd (Centre)
I'm Ben, I'm a fourth year Engineer, and as president, it’s my job to keep everyone in the boat club happy. I chair committee meetings, liaise with college, and just generally help wherever I can. I'm also stroking the men's 1st VIII.
I started rowing at the beginning of my second year after realising how much fun I was missing out on, and quickly got far more hooked than I had ever intended. My third year saw me joining the committee as webmaster, setting up this website and spending too many hours messing about on the Facebook page. Handily, it paid off, because my antics helped orchestrate my meteoric rise to president at the start of this year, leaving the fate of the boat club in my large farmer hands. If you have any questions about rowing with SHBC just drop me an email and/or some cake and I’ll be more than happy to help.

I'm Pippa, as treasurer I look after the boat club funds. This means I spend my time making spreadsheets and sending friendly emails about paying subs. Being treasurer also means I organise ordering kit, people really row as an excuse to wear lycra. I took up rowing as a fresher, and joined the committee as joint women's social secretary (for a term) before becoming treasurer. Any questions, finance or kit related, feel free to email me.

Hi, I'm Rachel, the women’s social secretary. I ensure that everyone is enjoying themselves and that not too many poor life choices are made. I coordinate crew dates and group socials for the women’s crews to keep morale high and the lash flowing. Feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions, or would like to crewdate us.

Hey, I’m Jono and I've been rowing for over six years now. It’s the friendly community within SHBC that just keeps me coming back for more. If you get the chance, then do have a go! I have also been involved with coaching novices and our women’s second crew since 2011.
