President of Boats
Thomas Bladon
As the glorious leader, having worked my way up from the humble position of social secretary, I look forward to (immorally) claiming responsibility for the (presumed fantastic) results my underlings (committee members) will produce. As a fourth year chemist I understand the sadist requirements of success and look forward to watching novices MBA & undergraduate experiencing the lactat-ey goodness only rowing can provide.

Vice-President
Emma Sadler ([email protected])
I've just finished a DPhil in biophysics and now I'm a postdoc in biochemistry which makes me nearly a real grown-up. As VP I'm charge of making sure everyone is staying safe while they're (hopefully!) having fun rowing, which includes things like swim/capsize test registration, squaring things with the EA, and restocking the first aid kit. I've been around for a few years, so I can often answer any other questions you have, or at least know who to pass you on to! I also row with City of Oxford RC, so I have to navigate both the town and gown viewpoint... Finally, I have an addiction to sculling, so I'm happy to give advice about that beyond filling in the forms.

Women's Captains
Men's Captains
Sam Johansen and Jamie Gardiner
As men's captains, we have the hard job of balancing a good training programme with a healthy social calendar of pubs, clubs, crew-meals and crew-dates in order to ensure that we perform as well as possible on and off the water. Jamie is a third year historian who previously held the position of social secretary and who is now sadly facing the stress of a dissertation and finals. Sam was previously vice-president, and is a second year Arch & Anther with too much free time. We will be working closely with the coaches to ensure the men's boats do as well as possible this year. If you're interested in rowing (either the sporty or social side) drop one of us an email and we can try and get you involved.

Captain of Coxes
Hannah Velez
Hi, I’m Hannah, a second-year historian and Spanish linguist. I handle the recruitment of coxes and make sure that they are trained and selected fairly. I also take care of the boathouse equipment and ensure that it’s properly maintained. We’re always looking for new coxes, so if you’re thinking about giving it a go, feel free to drop me an email.

Secretary
Sam Lee
Treasurer
Hanna Baričič
Hi, I’m a 2nd year E&Mer and the boat club treasurer, meaning I’m in charge of SHBC funds. My main roles are keeping track of all the expenses, sending out subs (and making sure people pay them) and slightly more excitingly, ordering boat club kit and stash. I’m happy to clarify any finance or kit-related issues so feel free to shoot me an email – I’m always looking for an excuse to avoid facing microeconomics problem sheets.

Social Secretary
Thomas Gibson
Hi I’m Tom, the Social Secretary, the lowly jester of the committee court. I aim to maintain cohesion of the Boat Club off as well as on the water, through bar crawls, themed nights and infamously crewdates. I am a firm believer that downing a pennied curry is just as likely to help you make friends as pulling a 6:25 2k; well at least I tell myself that…
I am also in charge (miraculously) of running formal dinners in the college, the Torpids Roast and Summer VIII’s Dinner.
Do hit me up if you have any queries about the formal events or are interested in crewdating the Hugh’s chaps ([email protected]).

Junior Social Secretary
Philippa Keane
I joined the boat club in my first year, since then I have both rowed and coxed. Finally in my 4th year I've got back to the real reason I took up rowing, my love of crewdates. As junior social sec I help organise boat club dinners, I also make sure the women have fun when off the water by organising socials. If you have any suggestions for socials or would like to crewdate our women please email me.

Novice Coordinator
Iain Graham (Angus)
Development Secretary
Poppy Ellison ([email protected])
I joined SHBC in my first term at university – Michaelmas 2012 – and am now one of the most senior (in both senses of the word!) rowers. As Development Secretary I have two key responsibilities – maintaining contact with the alumni, and aiding in the raising of funds and sponsorship for the club. With my own graduation fast approaching, I am all too aware of the importance of establishing a good rapport between current members and the alumni so that former rowers and coxes continue to feel part of the club. In the past I have held the positions of Social Secretary, Women’s Captain and President and consequently have a good understanding of all that goes on within SHBC. As a result I am well placed to advise and assist potential sponsors and donors. If you would like any more information, please do get in touch.

Private Gentleman
Private Lady
Georgia Comrie
Hi, I’m Georgia, a fourth year finalist in Modern languages (French and German.) This is my fourth year of rowing, having joined SHBC as a fresher, and I have to say that it is one of the best things I have done whilst at Oxford. I also spent the last year in Vienna and had the opportunity to row with the Erster Wiener Ruderclub. As Private Lady, My job is to advise and support the committee.
