Hi, I’m Gavin, I’m a third year biochemist and I share the position of Men’s Captain with Ben. Our role is to arrange outings and training for the men’s side of the boat club so get in touch if you have any queries. I’ve been involved with rowing since I was 13 or so and joined SHBC to carry that on. Nowadays you will find me rowing, coxing and occasionally coaching. It’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done so I urge you to give it a go and well, hopefully, see you down at the river.

Hi, I'm Oli and I'm the Boat Club's male Social Secretary. Like most, I started rowing for the first time at Hugh's, have never looked back and it's now a central part of my uni life. In my role as Social Secretary it's my job to make sure we all have as much fun as possible off the river by organising events such as Conquistador's, Christ Church Curry, Torpid's Roast and VIII's Dinner, as well as numerous crew dates throughout the year. Social events such as these were a large reason in me starting and continuing rowing and would also be a large reason in me recommending joining the Boat Club to anyone.

Hello! We’re Poppy and Georgia (collectively known as Goppy) and we are the Women’s Captains (double the trouble, double the fun!) Like many people who came here, we both felt that we would be denied of the full Oxford experience until we gave rowing a go, and once you start, there’s no going back! Although we have only been rowing for a term, it has been a great experience, and we've met loads of lovely people. We're responsible for organising events such as Torpid’s Roast and VIII’s dinner, as well as many a crew date throughout the term. In addition to this, we hope to expand our job, through organising bonding events and information evenings for those who are interested but don’t want a 2k erg session as their introduction to rowing.
